Could we do with a John Ryan as a new Chairman?

Is this the sort of new chairman we need?


Do we need someone like a John Ryan to replace Mr Shepherd at the end of the season?

"Doncaster chairman John Ryan will insist that FOUR teams are promoted to the championship if Leeds' bid to reclaim 15 points costs any of the leading clubs in League One.
A tribunal will meet again tomorrow and reveal its findings on may 1st. Ryan predicts a storm of protests from Rovers, Carlisle, Nottingham Forest, Southend, Walsall and Brighton if the decision effectively cost someone promotion.
He said" if anyone is denied their rightful place in the championship then i think an extra club should be promoted"." it's ludicrous that a promotion issue should be settled in court and teams who have done nothing wrong should be affected. the timing of the whole thing is scandalous too. " i promise that Doncaster and i suspect a host of other teams will not just roll over and die about this". "Imagine if Manchester United won the Premier League then someone else denied them by reclaiming 15 points. It wouldn't happen would it?"
Leeds were docked points at the start of the season for breaking rules over their insolvency.


I know a lot of people don’t like him, but I think we need someone like him in charge of the football club. He’s ambitious guy and he puts his money where his mouth is and is proud of his team and wants everyone to know.
He may want to be in the limelight and sometimes talk rubbish but he’s excited about HIS football club. I’m not saying Gordon Shepherd wasn’t as he did a good job with what he had, but I think we now need to take the club forward again and we need someone like a John Ryan. He saved a football club from the depths of non league football, who’s part time fans abandoned them for teams like L**ds, Fowls and even us. But those people now have egg on their face when they could be playing in the same league next year or even a higher league. I personally don’t have a problem with Doncaster except them taking 6 points from us every year, but I believe this is the sort of guy we need as a chairman, willing to spend money, he’s brought back the fans and he now has a team that plays good football and wins games. He’s got them a new ground and put Doncaster Rovers back on the map. I know most people don’t like Donny but you have to congratulate them with their achievements over the last few years along with teams like Carlisle and Hull ands its all because they have an exciting board that want to go places and aren’t worried about anything else. Just my opinion anyways and I’m also a new member so don’t slaughter me straight away haha…

I know it is not the main point of your post, but if 4 teams are to go up, does that mean that 4 teams would go down. Then we would have about 8 teams in league one and 6 in the Championship in various court battles. No one will no what divisions they are playing in and it will take ages to sort it out.

And it will all be Ken Bates fault, allegedly.

 

I think John Ryan is ok to be honest. OK he talks some crap, but its honest fans crap, and you can't deny he is a fan.

Someone who has the same enthusiasm for Barnsley, and the same business acuman, but perhaps with not so much of the gob, would be good.

 

I thought that, if 4 teams were to go up, surely they can't have an odd number of teams in the Championship? I was talking to a Leeds fan the other day and he mentioned the same thing but didn't believe a word he said as i couldn't see how it would work. Lets just be thankful we're not in that monkey league and have nothing to do with the white scum.

But anyway, If we could get someone like Mr Ryan, Less gob but same enthusiasm and invests maybe a bit of money, i think the club can move forward even more.

john ryan is as bent as a nine bob note (allegedly!!!!!!!) he owns, or did, the 'transform medical clinics', a friend (yes, i did have 1!!!!!!!!!!!) was involved in some businesses with him in the lates 80's early 90's (if you want details pm me) and it was 'alleged' that he was taking money out of this country to the channel islands in suitcases (yes, very mickey mouse for all you sceptics on here), BUT he cost my friend, and others a lot of money..............
he is/ always has been outspoken and sticks up for what he(possibly misguided) beleives in.
take a look back at the stand that burnt down in suspicious circumstances at the old rovers ground.........mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm wonder who did that? the good detectives at south yorks police never got anyone convicted of that one, and im NOT suggesting mr ryan did it...
