Looking at how it stands, with a couple of wins (definitely) we could still stay in this division. I'm not saying for one moment that what happened today should be forgotten, but look at what we did at Plymouth ... I'm still going to go for us staying up ... but if there's more than one point in it I'd be gobsmacked ...
And what Fairy Wand would you wave for next season to avoid a repeat of this one ? even if we do stay up.
Should we go down , I expect a season like the one where Rankin scored to keep us up in the last minute of the last game.
RE: Should we go down , only this time he'll not be there and we'll end up in the bottom division.

Its based on our own teams play , I would guess that there are other teams fans out there who are saying the same about there team.
The "football" under Davey has been an utter disgrace the like ofwhich I had hoped to never seeagain.
I can't believe the kind of **** we have dished up can actually be coached.

Double or nothing on the Birmingham game? I think I am a 5r dowm.
I will give you Brum and 0-0 n 1-1,
I'll take us and the high scoring draws!

RE: I don't think we deserve to stay up Would there be any point in staying up. Do you think our chairman is any more likely to make money available for new signings next season than he was this. Do you think that our "Manager" is suddenly going to be able to "manage" the players that he has, better than he has this season. IMHO the answer is NO on both counts, which means another season like this one. Having said that, I believe that if we go down this season, we may well keep on going down.
Because they're showing bottle by winning games Because when the likes of Burnley , Leeds , QPR & Hull play teams near the top of the table , they at least go out and try to win those games . And they actually manage to do it , as well . If they go down to Division 1 , they'll go down fighting . We aren't doing so . Therefore , in my humble opinion , we don't deserve to stay up . If we were to change our attitude and attack the opposition , then there's a distinct possibility we might actually get something out of our next 5 games . If we don't , then I personally don't see where the required points to survive are going to come from . We are now dependent on other teams dropping points , it's no longer in our own hands to avoid relegation .
"We are now dependent on other teams dropping points" Other teams WILL drop points and that is a fact. Are you seriously suggesting that they will all win their remaining matches? If we are relegated, then we won't have deserved to stop up. We have not been relegated this weekend. There are plenty on here who don't believe we "deserved" to get promoted - despite the we did.
We will only gain an advantage If we pick up points when our rivals drop some . In other words , not only are we dependent on those above us dropping points , we still have to win games to make up the defecit . Therefore , our fate is no longer in our own hands . Another fact , Leeds United can lose all their remaining games and still stay up , we can't .
We did recently beat Stoke & Plymouth We've won two out of the last three away fixtures. I thought we were pretty competative against Sunderland & Derby (difficult fixtures). We lost to Norwich (and Colchester for that matter) because we were over adventurous. I'm not sure if "all out attack" is neccesarily the best policy. Birmingham are likely to make short work of turning us over on the breakway. Mr Davey will try and keep the game as tight as possible and nick a goal (similar to Ipswich at home). Apologies if that is not the style of football you (or I for that matter) would like to see - but I do think it gives us our best chance. Incidentally, we tried to chase the game today (after we pulled a goal back) and got turned over pretty easily in the end. I'm not sure where the next win is coming from irrespective of the tactics / formation. Stephen
Norwich and Colchester hmmmm!!! how the hell were we OVER ADVENTUROUS. We were still playing **** negative football then. /poo /poo /poo /poo
In all honesty , Stephen At this moment in time , I'll take three wins from any way , shape or form of performance . Unfortunately , I just can't see us picking up the necessary points to avoid relegation . Usually I'm an optimist when it comes to BFC , I find it heartbreaking that ( no matter how hard I try ) I see nothing but relegation for us . I hope and pray that I'm proved to be nothing more than a miserable , pessimistic , old git . Kev
RE: Norwich and Colchester hmmmm!!! It was pretty clear that we went a goal down and panicked. From memory, Norwich & Colchester had numerous chances on the break. Our latest "tactic" when we go a goal down is to give up!
I'm trying to offer a positive perspective We can stay up - irrespective of what the the other teams do. Last week it was three wins from seven games. It's now three wins from five games. Technically, even the result of the Southend game won't send us down - but it is one of the more winable fixtures.
