Couldn't go to city my crucial ligament pulled a a pice of my bone of last Monday !!

Had the operation Thursday finally out yesterday anybody had this operation done???

My son did exactly the same thing late last summer Matt. It took them a while to diagnose it and he then had the op to repair it in November. It's apparently more common in teenagers (are you?) and happens because the cruciate is actually stronger than the bone. In someone older, when the bone has hardened fully, the more common outcome is a torn cruciate. Well that's what we were told anyway.

Good luck with your recovery. Don't rush it!

Cheers, what actually happened is. My ligament hamster stretched and a piece of my bone below my knee cap and come out of place and they have had the screw it back in, and I am15 years old.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to me, i was 16 when i did mine. it baffled the doctors for a good while too

The doctors knew what up with me straight away last Monday I it happened I was sat in A&Efor 7 hours came out yesterday carnt put no weight on my foot for about 4 week GUTTED

think your self lucky i was in a straight cast for 10 week and in a cast with a hinge on for 6!

That@ it Matt - just the same. My son's an athlete and is just about getting back to running now. Hoping to be finally given the all clear after Easter. I guess they've told you about how important it is not to do too much too soon in case it comes off again?

Just not got to put weight on it got to get up on the crutches as much as I can, and I have got to do these exercises three times a day how long did it take your son the recover (walk)

Yep - he had exercises to do every day too. Was yours done by keyhole surgery?

He had a full leg brace on for 6 weeks and was on crutches for a month. After that they told him to just use his crutches for balance if needed but that they wanted him to put weight on it so to walk as normally as possible.

Yeh I have got brace on it just hurts when someone pushes agaisnt my foot .....

I did the exact came thing. Two weeks in a cast then four weeks in a brace. Three months off work too. I did mine on a stag do in Newcastle. Still went out supping though!
