i thought players were booked for "inciting the crowd"?
on barnsley-mad it states coulson was booked for "leaving the field without consent"
    which is correct:S

Leaving the field without the ref's consent is a bookable offence, and he certainly did that. Should have stayed on the pitch, but hey, he'd just scored his first home goal...

Didn't see he did owt wrong - did he actually go into the crowd?

He left the field without consent. He went close to the crowd without actually going in I think. Referees don't use common sense anymore.

That's what I thought he did - he didn't go into the crowd....ridiculous booking was that.

He broke the rule which states that a player leaving the field with out the referees permission should be cautioned.

    It's a pity

because up until then the ref had a good game.

Don't think we should have had a pen early on? Generally thought ref was decent - linesmen were shocking, but the chances of getting a full, good set of officials = zero. But thought JCR should have had a pen early on.

A stupid booking. By the very definition and wording of the rule it is a yellow card every time a player takes a throw-in

He Was Always Going To Get Booked...........

but it was his first goal and so I don't blame him being happy. He will have known at the time that he would get booked anyway.

    What a pathetic rule?

If the kids had come over the wall they could have been thrown out of the ground and got a 3 year ban.

Crowd surges are also dangerous. Walls have been known to collapse and people have been injured and even killed.

This "pathetic rule" of yours is there for safety reasons.

Coulson tried to pull himself away but a fan grabbed a hold of him. Yeah, considering some of the tackles that go unpunished, standing near the fans should definitely be yellow.

I thought the same, Jay. Players leave the field all the time when celebrating goals, running around the back of the nets etc after scoring. They never get booked - and basically it was the same thing.
