    Barnsley's Coulson faces lay-off

Barnsley's Michael Coulson is facing up to eight months out after sustaining cruciate knee ligament damage.

The 20-year-old striker suffered the injury in training on Tuesday and boss Simon Davey told the club website: "It's a disaster for him.

"He's been coming on and doing well for us. He's the first name I look to put on the bench."

After a brief loan spell at Northwich Victoria early this season, Coulson has been used as an impact sub by Davy.

    Not another one!

    Yes. It's very sad.
I wish him all the luck in the world.
He was beginning to look like a good player who could make an impact when introduced.

    First name on the bench

according to Davey - which seemed to be a strange compliment

    I read that.
I still think Davey will come good and will continue to back him but some of his decisions have been totally baffling.

I've been the biggest sceptic about our cup run

And what it's done to our season, but we've also had no luck with injuries. We wouldn't be in this position if De Silva was still fit I feel, he really is that important to us.

Da Silva's loss has been massive for us.
Who knows what we could have achieved if both Muller and Da Silva had played all season?
    It hardly bears thinking about.

    Terrible blow for the lad.
I think he is developing quite nicely and will be a big asset to the club in a few years time.
I hope he makes a full recovery.
