To what I've seen of him I don't think the lad is ready for Championship football. He's a good prospect so why not give him time to develop instead of trying to rush him. A spell in League 2 followed by League 1 may be beneficial to some younger players. There seems to be a general general trend now in football that players are rushed into the 1st team before they are ready.
Yes, just look how its turned out for Rooney!!! If they are good enough, play them, age doesnt matter, old or young. All that matters is ability.
