It's a disgrace

I know people who are affected by this and they are gutted.

Sounds harsh. But try look on positive side. At least you're still in a job. Thing is will we see a benefit from this in council tax cuts? If not its ridiculous!

My Council tax has gone up. Shockingly high. I'd support the council making cut backs if it is passed on to us the tax payer otherwise will just result in more waste!

I said about 12 months ago people should tighten their belts. Got harranged by those of intelect on here who told me that we should keep spending as if we stop it will slow down the economy. So I don't know anymore!

And yet my council tax has gone up

And informed I'll only be getting bins emptied once a fortnight - oh aye, sorry I forgot I can have a bin for garden waste and cardboard to be collected the other week.....well, given my back yard is about the size of a postage stamp I don't think there'll be much going in that one! In fact once I've got my big bin for glass and another big one for paper I don't think I'll have room in the yard for owt else!

all these bins we can now get and not one for plastic

the amount of packaging, bottle, cartons made of plastic these days is crazy and the council still want to bury it all.

But as you say, all the teraced houses in the town centre are been given garden waste bins when most of the houses have yards or very small gardens.

I agree about the plastic recycling

We collect all our plastic bottles and take em to the tip, but its a right pain when it could easily be collected with the cans/glass/paper.

    My job evaluation

My wage has been cut by 20%. Gutted is not the word. What goodwill will they have from their employees?

    completely understand.

Luckily, i was awarded the same as what I was, but it didn't stop me worrying the last couple of weeks.

Most of our section has been hit, and hard.

From what I can remember, only 4 or 5 of us remained the same, loads of other have gone down from 500 quid upto 4 grand pa.

but to give some indication, one poor chap was downgraded from po3 to po1 in a recent re-structure (equates to about 5 g's) and then under this has been hammered by another 5 grand reduction.

so he has lost 10K in the space of a few months.

I know what I would have done!!

Seems everywhere I look, everyone has gone down, so where has this stated percentages of results come from, cos I can't for the life of me see how the hell those percentages are going to be actuals

It's all well and good suspending pay-rises (well not that good)

but cutting wages could seriously land people in it. What happens if you can no longer afford your mortgage on your new take home? Out on the streets? Sorry little Billy but you're not going to get the things we planned for you because mum/dad has had to take a significant pay cut. You don't expect this when you sign your employment contract.

Been an absolute **** day at work today. I've been one of the lucky ones where my pay has stayed the same but I know of others who are to lose upto 6 and half grand a year. Fook knows how they are gonna cope with that cos it would have really sunk me.

    I've thought that too

These days you get more plastic than you do glass so why no plastic recycle service. It's the same up here in Cumbria.
