Under contract but still engineered a transfer to Barcelona .Klopp said the club have done everything to make him stay but in the end the players have more power. Hourahaine under contact but still engineered a transfer to Villa.Cryne said the club have done everything to make him stay but in the end the players have more power. My point been BFC didn't dismantle the team the players themselves did.
I'm not sure Connor was the same... His contract was running out so we sold to get some money before he walked for free. At the time the club needed to do that to balance the books and keep us afloat.
P.Cryne said Connor was offered the biggest contract in the history of BFC but Villa offered him more.In the food chain theres always some body bigger. In Liverpools case Barcelona in our case Villa.
I've just seen my mate who supports Liverpool moaning about Barcelona taking their best player off of them and how unfair it is..... I just said I'm sure Southampton feel the same every time you do it to them...
The difference in this transaction is that to meet Liverpools demands Coutinho has put £15 million of his own money towards the £142 million asking fee. He's that keen to join Barcelona he flew out at 6pm from an Airport in the South East tonight so he can be at Barcelonas game against Levante tomorrow. That level of commitment is irresistible and to my mind, Liverpool have done the right thing in letting him go as quite clearly his heart was not in it.
Not sure about scowen mate but forcing Roberts out of the club makes no sense to me, I’m pretty sure it was having his wages doubled by Birmingham that had something to do with it plus at the last Q&A Patrick did say that he was the one player he wished he’d fought harder to keep,
I don't think the staff rated scowen as highly as the fans did, he was sub a lot and only got a decent run the the team due to injuries and when matt James was here on loan and morsy went back. Roberts I think the money was too good that was offered for someone from non league who cost next to nothing. I don't think we would be much better off now if they were still here it really is as simple as not good enough strikers and to many attacking midfielders,l, loss of Jackson and McDonald's form and getting pinnock ready. Not sure also that a Williams scowen partnership in a 442 would have ripped up this league, I think our young players will come good in time it's just too much too soon for them, we will sign hopefully some experience and start judging in February.
Club wanted him to stay, Cryne took a break from his treatment to meet with him in person. Conor told him he wanted the move to Villa
