New Peter Kay sitcom on beeb 2 last night, well worth a catch up on iplayer if u ant seen it, altho his cockney accent is horrendous...
Hmm, I just dipped into catch up because I missed a couple of things. Watched this about half way through and gave up on it. Found it a bit irritating to be honest which is a shame because I like everything Peter Kay does normally. That one called Boy Meets Girl looks promising - set in Newcastle about a shy 26 year old man starting a relationship with a 40 year old trans-sexual. Normally run a mile from stuff like this but I thought it was really well done and Rebecca Root is very good in it. Then had a look at that Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse 25 years Special. Gave up on that as well after about 25 mins. The old clips are good (well, some of them) but the "audience participation" stuff was rock bottom rubbish! The pair of them are playing famous people in the audience and asking fatuous questions. Just not funny. Time they gave up on it to be honest. They were brilliant in their day and Whitehouse is great in the adverts, but that's it.
I thought Cradle to the Grave was a bit disappointing too. A decent watch but not funny. It's based on Danny Baker's book about his upbringing. Kay just acts in it I think, and his cockney accent is appalling. Boy Meets Girl was decent I thought. Again not particularly funny but interesting nonetheless.
I normally don't watch this kind of tv. But I actually found it chucklingly funny, very quirky and touching at times. crackingly good programme, well written and the 2 lead actors, brilliant. Rebecca Root is great. Good on the BBC for giving this airtime. (normally the realm of channel 4)
She is one of those "is she, or isn't she" so I had to look her up on Google just to confirm that she was a trans-sexual. Quite a convincing one I would say. I thought the bit by the car with the window half open was very funny. Interesting to see how it progresses.
I'd heard of her before, but also had to double check. She looks like a good friend of mine, but I daren't mention it to her! The bit where she returned to the table and the waiter said he bolted was very lump in throat stuff.
She was on bbc breakfast on Thursday and nearly started crying a couple of times while talking about the show. She's obviously had a hard time through her life because of her choices, raw emotions.
Yes I know what you mean but when he rushed back in and said "woman left her cardi behind" that was a very funny line.
Bound to have had. Can't imagine the physical and emotional pain they have to go through just because they believe a biological "error" has been made. I have no problem with people who do this, to re-assign themselves as it were. Live and let live and all that. She isn't doing anyone any harm, is she?
