We are down.

    The season pissed away.

Hassell in midfield - as bad as 2 tickets per ST holder.

He didn't do anything for West Brom...

Why the negativity all of a sudden?

He scored against us at West Brom away I think. Wasn't he just a sub at Oakwell?

    That he did.

I meant at Oakwell when he came on.

We will win on Saturday, 2-0.

    Without De Silva

I think we'll struggle to put 51 points on the board. with him, we could quite easily finish top 12.

    Agreed

I think we are missing 3 things. A good replacement for De Silva, a striker that knows what his job his, and the correct use of the substitute bench. Get those three things sorted and we would be a very hard team to beat.

We'd do a better job with Andy Johnson in the middle rather than Bobby Hassell.

would do a better job with simon davey in midfield to be fair

Hassell is a good player but he is a defender, not a midfielder.

I think we've got enough ability up front to score enough goals to push us top half. I also think we have a decent defensive unit. but De Silva is the main cog, he helps us retain possession, gets us moving forward and stops the opposition running straight through us. I dont think there is a replacement for him outside the Premiership, or under a million quid.

There is. Togwell and Johnson can and have both done better than Hassell but Davey disagrees.

the point Im making is pretty much anyone would look ***** in there compared to Andersen. we saw exactly what he's lacking last time Togwell played. is he a better option than Hassell? marginal.

I posted this last night..............are we becoming a one man team ?

Because without De Silva, howard dosen't seems to be able to function as well as he can do and the knock on effect of this is that the forwards dont get the service

Toggers - Better athlete than Hassell. Gets box to box like De Silva does, but the comparison ends there. Gives the ball away as much as Hassell and gets stuck in the same.

I'm just trying to think how other teams manage

De Silva must be one of the best midfielders in the division, so how do teams above us cope?

It might be an idea to put Howard on the left and two defensive players in the middle when De Silva doesn't play. It may limit Howard a bit, but at least we're not as exploited.

    I thought Howard did well.

While everybody was booting it up in the air into the wind, Howard put his foot on it and played it on floor.

    RE: Without De Silva

De Silva played in the games at Hull and Coventry and Plymouth and Sheff Utd and Sheff Wed and on and on.

We've played well in 5 and half games this season: Wolves, West Brom, Watford and half of the Bristol City game at home; Liverpool and Southampton away. The rest of the time we've been ****.
