I must have had one of those premonitions, because when last season ended and the transfer window opened the only name I could think of was Martin Cranie. Everyone was banging on about a decent centre half and I thought back to when we played Cov in feb. He carried their defence. When he signed for us I thought it was best signing since we bought Campbell-Ryce from Southend. Proper proper Championship quality and with Hill playing him in a more advanced defensive midfield role, it gives the likes of Mellis, Dawson & co the licence to get forward without being scared of the other team countering.

Craine has been a great signing so far can play anywhere across the back and looks very comfortable in midfield just does the simple things

Clearly mental. Probably best not to excite him by arguing.

I try not to get carried away with our performances and results but I think our midfield line up is on par with the best 4 we've had since we come back to the championship. 4 cracking players who I think this season could realistically keep us ticking by in the top half of the league
