How does he get away with no flack from our fans?

Another terrible performance from him, like he has done all season. It's no coincidence he's part of a defence that has conceded 38 goals in 20 games. The back 4 were all over the shop all game, part of the undroppable quartet of Cranie, Wiseman, Kennedy and Perkins.

Thought Cranie was superb..two poor passes in 90 minutes, other than that faultless.

He can only do so much with the ones he has around him. Countless times he's proven himself to be a solid Championship defender.

Seriously? Our defensive is ******* woeful, but he's always one of our best players, in my opinion.

Yeah, I just don't get it. I think he's constantly at fault for goals, nowhere near physical enough for this league. He looks lovely on the ball no doubt about it, but not good enough if we want to progress I'm afraid.

Wow Wellsie - he was my MotM. Ramage struggled to cope with Miller physically and Grant for skill / speed all game. IMO but for Cranie we'd certainly have lost today.....

Can't agree, I really rate Cranie. In my opinion he's the only defender we have who is certainly Championship class - Wiseman is fairly steady these days too - but I think Cranie is head and shoulders above the rest of them.

Fair enough - we're all entitled to our opinions. He doesn't have the physical presence of an M'voto or Ramage, but he reads the game better than both of them put together. His composure on the ball is a massive asset too.

My man of the match today and up there last home game too, but I do think you have a point he did escape quite a bit of criticism because everyone was laying into M`voto and laying their blame for the goals with him.

Perfect example, first goal vs Birmingham. M'Voto gives the ball away on the half way line, Cranie is miles out of position so can't block the shot. Who gets the blame?! M'Voto.

    For me

He's by far and away our best, most consistent defender. He makes mistakes, we all do, but he makes fewer than anyone else.
    Just my opinion.

A couple of players could bow their heads on that goal.

Cranie rarely gives the ball away though. M'voto ****** up a simple pass.

He was the best player on the pitch yesterday. Without a doubt a solid championship centre half.

Like I discussed with you on twitter mate, I said with 10 mins to go that Cranie had been outstanding today and was clear MOTM for me, he won everything and did it in style and stayed composed all game. We would have lost by 2 or 3 without him yesterday! Great player for us at the moment! I would still like to see him back in the role of in front of the back 4 though. He played outstanding there vs Brum away when we won 5v0, this would allow Paddy or Meliis in the front of the 4, and 2 of Perkins, Dawson and Kelvin to do the tough work in the middle!!
