Need some help.
Moved out of an address in June 2006, had a Credit Card with Barclaycard. At time of moving paid off the balance and gave them forwarding address.
Last week got refused credit, shocked why! Got access to credit report and £450 outstanding with Barclaycard!
Phoned them, want the money asap and sent to a recovery agency. Found out someone started to subscribe to WHICH magazine in Dec 2006 and 4 payments of £7.75 taken, 5th payment failed / blocked by Barclaycard. Spoke to WHICH magazine, they have all my details (Ie old address, name) but an e-mail address I have never heard of.
What can i do? I've told Barclaycard refuse to pay it until see statements and want it down as Fraud.

Barclaycard are usually very good with fraud, so you should be fine.
Have you spoken with them about whats happened?

Yes, speaking on and off since last Wednesday. Issue is they won't go into too much detail because they sent the issue onto a debt agency. Doesn't help that they never updated my contact details when I moved.
If they're saying they've sold off a debt you didn't run up
Which is what it sounds like, then get it touch with these

www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk

Cheers for that. When I left the property the balance was £15.27, I paid that off in cash.......... Can't prove it mind because don't save slips going back to June 2006. Activities gone on though since I left that address, so im safe with that. If it is the people that bought my old house, then it fits in because they had the house repossesed in Jan this year.
Could always take proof of when you moved away from the address and file a complaint with the police for fraud. I think you will have to do this anyway but if you leave it, then they may ask why you have not reported the crime to the police.
