I just want to register my complete support for the way the club has approached business so far from my perception of things - not knowledge, I have no insider sources. From the speed at which deals have been done, I get the impression that a good amount of outline planning was going on towards the back end of last season. That means there's a strategic plan. Finances appear sorted. The fact that we are able to attract 'rising stars' (to be confirmed) bears testimony to the reputation we have built for talent recognition and development AND our new footballing 'brand'. Much hinges on the brand and I think we need to stay true to playing hard-working, pressing football executed by fit, committed players with attacking intentions and a 'never say die' attitude. If we continue with this, good players appear excellent players by the value added through the team achieving more than the sum of its parts. Last season we got a lot right in terms of vision and execution from the top down through all levels. And there's many more at the club that contribute to success than regularly see the limelight. Success has the best chance of being sustained if we work to consolidate and improve 'TEAM Barnsley' going forward. There's bound to be things we haven't got right both on and off the pitch but I congratulate the new owners for having put us on a sensible path to success and, dare I say, showing realistic ambition. Well done BFC.
