Thought he had a good game when he came on. Lots of energy, tackling, closing down. Add to that, his shot for COG's goal, the control and perfect cross field pass to Pedersen and then the header that just missed. Made a significant contribution to a well deserved 3 points for the REDS. Onwards and upwards.
Great attitude has Jim. When you consider the amount of positions he has been asked to play, you see the quality he brings to the squad. Do agree with you Archey, his best position is right wing......no doubt at all. Hopefully he gets a new contract.
Thought he was OK some of his crosses were a bit woeful and his defensive play unconvincing but he'll improve on that with games imo
He was left vulnerable defensively at times down their left flank. Good at doing the hard work but falls short with the simple things...
He was left vulnerable but because of tactical changes rather than Wiseman not doing his job as some are implying
Cant understand why he gets any stick, 100% graft every time he plays and gives a spark down the right going forward...Ok he's not worlds best at everything..but if he was he would'nt be here
He frustrates me. I've seen him put perfect crosses and corners in to the box on many occasions, yet he seems to struggle while wearing a reds shirt.
Well said Good performance from Jim only blemish being a defensive mix-up second half which nearly cost a goal.
Wild guess, but perhaps the fan who was giving him a hard time wasnt impressed by seeing him skinned out wide over and over again, pretending to challenge for headers by jumping hip first and apparently trying to decapitate someone in the East Stand when free wide right on the edge of their box Did some good things on the ball yesterday but if he was called Jakub Obrenowski he'd be slaughtered for his glaring deficiencies instead of being lauded as Barnsley's answer to Braveheart.
I thought he was brilliant yesterday. Put in the hard yards as always. Won plenty of challenges. Tricked his way into the box like a Brazilian but yes, no idea what that shot/cross was about. Picked out Pedersen with a wonderful 30 yard pass. Beat their centre half in the air to narrowly head just wide. Wasn't great in our own box etc, defending. But then, he isn't a defender. He put in a display that to me said "I want to play for this club, I want my place back" and that's the attitude I like to see.
This Board is about opinions and no right / wrong. Your opinion is polar opposite to mine re. Jim's performance.
Played really well until the manager messed up again by changing the tactics and inviting pressure onto us costing us two goals
Re: Well said To be fair it was a suicide ball to him, from someone who could see the Boro player coming behind him.
Re: Well said We said exactly the same yesterday; there was no way Jim could be blamed for that incident.
