Done ... Made an impact when he came on, looked willing to try and beat the defender. Gave us a bit more cutting edge. Liked McNulty in midfield, and Jimbo ....been out for weeks on end with an injury comes on at Burnley and puts a decent shift in, and today was easily the most energetic player on the pitch. I'll have whatever he's on. Well done lads. Not pretty, but a win works for me.
JOB showed what we have been missing with him not about. Hard to believe we haven't offered him a new contract yet and could lose him for nothing in the summer. Done did enough to get a start on tuesday night. Great determination for his goal and bringing him on made a big difference. One closer to his target of eight goals.
Well impressed with Done again today, he's very hit and miss, but today he was certainly the former, has to start for me on tuesday. Jimbo had a good game, Keith wants to rest him for tuesday though, so we'll get to see Cotterill, at least there's one position we seem to have a choice of quality players.
It was the 2nd time he'd been pushed in there. The previous time was Millwall. O'Brien himself said on Player that he'd be struggling for Tuesday ad that it woould come too soon for him, so I'm sure he won't play Tuesday.
Sometimes Matt Done looks miles away from this level, sometimes he looks like he's never played below it. However, all the time, when he breaks through one-on-one, he actually looks like he's going to score and so far (touch wood), more often than not he has done. It's a long while since we've had a player so composed and reliable in these situations.
Just watched his goal on the highlights ... great pace & determination. Agree sometimes he does look out of his depth, but did well yesterday when he came on.
Does he seem to play poor when given a start but play well when coming into a game? I cant remember, but agree he is a Jeckyl and Hyde player.
Done was absolutely dire at Burnley... Any word on why Doyle wasn't in the squad, did well when he came on midweek.
