Credit Where Credits Due!

Less than a month on here I posted how despondent I felt due to lack of strengthening of the team particularly the defence. This was one of the reasons I didn't renew my season ticket.
I hold my hands up and admit that my decision appears to be a foolhardy one after the magnificent performance I have just witnessed.
People can be critical of Keith Hill on this board as much as they like but that was a performance from a team which Hill has developed over the last year with his hands tied behind his back. (Financially that is)
I for one can see what this Manager expects of his players. His DNA is being grafted into these players as was on display this evening.This Management team are in imo the best this club has had for years and all of a sudden we are witnessing displays that bear the fruit of the hard work this manager has put in.
The challenge now is can we keep hold of the players who are developing or will the big guns be sniffing round come January?
The harsh reality is that we will probably lose one or two of them but the most important think is that we MUST keep Hillflicker at all costs.
A massive well done to Keith Hill and the Players.

 

I think Hill understands the value of achieving something before considering moving elsewhere. Keeping Barnsley up is quite clearly not enough for him and he obviously loves the challenge of turning a side around. Id be surprised if he went elsewhere until Barnsley are something better than a mid-table team.

 

Think its reason to dig deep if we can afford it and get a season ticket,saw the match against Blackpool ,the signs were there ,better things to come ,quality......needs people to start flocking back to Oakwell,daft as it seems most clubs rely on gate receipts to increase there income rather than sponsorship,which can be transformed into being able to retain and get players in.
