Must admit I hadn't noticed that a Crewe player joined the wall at the last minute and barged Scowen (I think it was) out of the way. Surprised no-one complained that it was a foul.
My son told me that when I asked him who moved in the wall. He sits in the Ponty whereas I sit in ESL. He still blamed the the goalie though for moving to his right before it was kicked.
There was a huge gap to the left of the wall that left Colclough with a good sight of goal. All he had to do was hit it straight and hard. Poor planning all round.
Yes Scowan was pushed with both hands from the Crewe player. However it's wasn't exactly a top.corner shot and Towsend too a step to his right away from the area he should have been covering. I can't understand how he is keeping Davies out. Also you can see clearly how long they spent celebrating in their own half before we kicked off
I still blame Mawson for a silly foul on the edge of the box in the first instance. Made up for it mind a few minutes later. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
He is correct. A Crewe player did join the wall and there was some pushing (Scowen and the Crewe player) as the kick was taken but there was a massive hole in the wall. In my opinion the goal would not have been scored had the wall been set up properly.
Townsend was at fault for both goals. He set a wall up to cover the right side and then promptly moved to cover the same side leaving the Crewe player to blast it straight down the middle. He fell for the old eyes trick hook line and sinker. Crewe player looked to Townsend's top right corner and conned him, the ball went no more than a foot from where Townsend was originally stood. Second goal he was beaten at the near post from an acute angle - a cardinal sin in goalkeeping circles.
