Can someone tell me how he's managed to play so many times for his country (chinny) (chinny) (chinny)
Yes he is - been excellent recently, though I wasn't a big fan of him previously. Had a bad day today but a lot of the runs he conceded were unfortunate outside/inside edges. Stuart Broad looks a class act though, with bat and ball - and the performances of Mascarenhas and Wright today were very promising.
I'd be interested in seeing his net run rate over his international one day career. Another bad day at the office today. If he had bowled his full allocation, he would have gone for anything upto 100 runs.
As I said, a lot of the runs, particularly in the last 2 overs, were inside and outside edges. The yorker he bowled to Uthappa which Uthappa inside-edged, seemed to clip the leg stump but didn't dislodge the bail, and ran away for four, was probably the final nail in the coffin - but if it had hit the stumps, as it probably deserved to do, England would have won.
I would say your initial post is a knee-jerk reaction to a less than impressive day. Everybody has off days.
his economy is 4.77 which isnt that bad considering scores since ive been watching cricket for about 2 years. will obviously get better the more he plays. http://content-uk.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/8608.html
hes a totally different bowler this summer to the one we have seen drop in and out of the side over the past five years, thats down to getting plenty of overs unders his belt back at lancashire, not taking the drinks out as 12th man for england, today he was very unlucky to be fair, pietersens fielding and priors wicketkeeping were my main worries today, they both cost us dear, very sloppy.
lol care to change your opinion of him? 2/19 off 8 and a decent catch, cant judge him on the 1 game you saw!
