About 450-500, so a 250ish lead. Plenty of time left to get them all out again and get a few runs if they are needed. We don't want to be bowling again until tea tomorrow though at the earliest, so if we can rack up the runs we could go on to 600 or so.

Hemsworth, ~3.5 per over is not slow scoring in test matches fella. To answer your question, they should bat all today and a good part of tomorrow, gradually picking up the run rate. Chances are they'll not have to declare if they do that and have 550+ runs in the bank.

but compered to normall england its q bit slower.
at lords they went at average 4.
in aussie land they had sessions at 5's.
and yes i know they will only score quicker with the players to come.

Sessions where we go at 5 are very rare in the extreme and often when a pietersen or prior are at the crease and throwing the bat. 3.5 and above for a day is pretty fast scoring. Anything above 4 is very high scoring. The key is build partnerships, bat once getting 400 in front and have 1.5 days to bowl them out on a crumbling turning pitch which edgbaston often turns into.

    This isnt IPL you know!?!?!

Yep, bat and bat and bat some more. Remember we're only on day 2, 10 sessions left in the match so plenty of time. Longer we bat more the pitch will deteriorate.
