Just before Christmas the sister of a little girl in my class died after receiving 90% burns in an arson attack. This is now a murder case and is to be shown this week. Since the incident the family has been blown apart with the mum almost dieing from a stress related illness. The little girl in my class has been ,understandably, not seen much in the last few weeks. When she has been in she has often broken down in tears and blames herself for the death as she was the last one to see the little girl.

This has not caused the usual over the top grief in Liverpool but utter revulsion that a three year old has died in such a fashion. There are various facebook groups for the girland fund raising events to support the famiily as everyone tries to rally round.

Think it puts things into perspective when we worry about a home draw Charlton!Football isn't just a matter of life and death - it's more important than that!

    Sorry , utter sh**e!

Please don't take this the wrong way but I can't see the point of trying to trivialise things that are important in every day life by comparing them to extreme tragedies.

If we took this attitude nothing would matter as there is always something worse that could happen or happened to someone else.

I have the utmost sympathy for those involved but it doesn't make the results of Barnsley FC any more or less important

PS Let's hope the programme helps catch those responsible

I wasn't trying to trivialise it and I'm sorry if that's how it came across

I felt bad about the result at the weekend but I can also sometimes see that there are more important things and we need to stepnback sometimes and put things in context

    Don't even think about apologising

    You are absolutely spot on.
Little Jimmy G has one more overtaken the Boring Scottish fella as board imbecile.
Maybe when he grows up, and heaven forbid, becomes a father he may begin to underastand.

RE: Don't even think about apologising

    You are pathetic

Does having kids give you a massive insight on the world that no one else has??

LiverpoolRed has nothing to apologise for

I am saying that someone dying in tragic circumstances cannot be placed in the same context as football results - it does not make them anymore or less important as they have no relation to each other
