Beckham came on as a second-half substitute in the 3-2 home defeat by Croatia to win his 99th cap. </p>

    &quot;Without a doubt. I'm not retiring,&quot; said former England captain Beckham. </p>

&quot;I said that the moment I was taken out of the team and the moment I came back into the team and I'm not stepping down,&quot; said the England midfielder. </p>

    </p><div class="avinline">[IMG]Interview: England midfielder David Beckham </div>

    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="208" align="right" border="0"><tbody><tr><td style="width: 5px">[IMG]</td><td class="sibStdQuote"><div><div class="mva">We're simply a better team
    </div></div><div class="mva"><div class="mva">Croatia coach Slaven Bilic</div></div></td></tr></tbody></table></p>

Scott Carson's awful attempt to stop Niko Kranjcar's shot gifted Croatia an early lead and Slaven Bilic's side went in at the break 2-0 up after Ivica Olic capitalised on some ponderous defending. </p>

    <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" width="208" align="right" border="0"><tbody><tr><td style="width: 5px">[IMG]</td><td class="sib606"><div class="sihf">606: DEBATE </div><div class="ibqlinks">Will David Beckham win his 100th cap? </div></td></tr></tbody></table></p>

Frank Lampard's penalty and Peter Crouch's superb volley hauled England level, but Mladen Petric's shot gave Croatia a memorable win. </p>

&quot; We're disappointed as a team and obviously the nation will be disappointed about not qualifying,&quot; said Beckham. </p>

&quot; If you don't win games you don't qualify. We just didn't perform and that's the end of it.&quot; </p>

A visibly shaken McClaren added: &quot; We thought we were ready and thought we were prepared. </p>

&quot; We had a bad start and we then we got ourselves back into it but Croatia always looked like scoring. </p>

&quot; To concede three goals at Wembley, I would have doubted that very much before the game.&quot; </p>

England captain Steve Gerrard pinpointed Croatia's two early first-half goals as key to their inability to secure the necessary point against Croatia. </p>

&quot; The first 15 minutes killed us - we wanted to start quickly but we find ourselves with a mountain to climb,&quot; said the Liverpool midfielder. </p>

&quot; There was a big improvement in the second half and we should've shut up shop but we've let it slip.&quot; </p>

Goalscorer Crouch insisted Carson would recover following his embarrassing error. </p>

    &quot;Scott's a fantastic young keeper,&quot; said Crouch. &quot;He'll be disappointed but he's still a fantastic prospect. </p>

Croatia coach Slaven Bilic believed England's players were unable to cope with the expectations of a hugely expectant country and media. </p>

&quot; We didn't feel that kind of negative pressure,&quot; said Bilic. </p>

&quot; It's a bit hard, although they are world-class players and should cope with it, it is hard to cope with that kind of negative pressure. </p>

Bilic added: &quot;Wake up. You didn't lose the game because of the tactics. </p>

&quot; We're simply a better team. I admire your team and your players but my team is a much better team.&quot; </p></font></td></tr></tbody></table>

On their day, England can beat anybody.

Those days are unfortunately like the 29th of February. </p>

Also, a free, hateful press is a big handicap to any democratic nation's football team. State controlled media is the only answer methinks.</p>

England are no longer a major team in World football.

All this crap about England should be beating team X & Y, but end of day we don't have the players to perform to an expected level. We have too many players that don't care about how they perform and others that just expect to be in the team.

Lets hope we get to host 2018WC, that way we won't have to qualify.
