i prefer Bent and Defoe to Crouch

any of these would cause more problems for defenders than crouch would in my opinion.

    Nope

Argentina struggled, and I have a sneaky suspicion Sven will be planning to use him against Brazil, should we do well enough to meet them. thee all watch...

I'd have Crouch above Bent and Defoe isn't playing regularly enough for Spurs to be a certain starter. I still think that Crouch was born to be an international sub though.

Fingers crossed for Owen's return from injury. Other than Rooney, he's the only proven international goal scorer in the squad.

agreed. he is in all fairness a decent player but we have better options. sven will play owen and rooney if fit crouch on the bench. but we can all name svens team now he is so predictable

against the South Americans who defend deep, Owen will have no room to run into. Crouch, the big awkward gangly bugger that he is, could well be our secret weapon, cos at set pieces, decent delivery from Beckham or Lampard, he's nigh on undefendable.

Agreed. He's a really useful option against South American sides who are not accustomed to dealing with big awkward centre forwards. Owen is more than just a runner though, as shown against Brazil he can pinch a goal out of nothing. His goal/game record is quality at international level.

Crouch will have to watch out for whistle happy refs. I can see him heading in a late goal only for it to be contravercially disallowed for a push. Sol Campbell Euro 2004 all over again.
