and I take it 'we' will be funding this venture ?

not PC on his own ?

I would love Mr Cryne to seriously consider Coppell as next manager, but to TELL him to go and bang his door down is not giving him credit to make a decision of what to do with HIS money.

said tongue in cheek, but no point waiting about to miss out on someone who wants to get back into the game.
And this is the same Mr Cryne that we are meant to give credit too, that backed davey and let him bring all the players in and said he would stick by him and then sacked him after 5 games anyway!!!

The weaker parts of his CV

    Brentford (2001-2002)

Coppell was appointed manager of Brentford in 2001, and took them to the Division Two play-off final in 2002 after they had narrowly missed out on automatic promotion, conceding a late equaliser to Coppell's future side Reading in a 2nd v 3rd end of season decider. After this, Coppell resigned citing the club's lack of finances.

    Manchester City 1996

Coppell left Palace in October 1996 to become manager ofManchester Citya job that he would quit after only six games and 33 days in charge. He cited the pressure of the job as his reason for leaving the club. His reign at the club is the shortest of any City manager to date.

after listening to him on sky sports today i wouldn,t bother,he wants an ambitious club that can challenge near the top of the table, that rules us out then.

People who think Coppell is a realistic target are in dreamland

Andy Ritchie (20/1) is a shorter price than Coppell (25/1) and I think that realistically sums up how likely it is that we'd get him.

As high up as he would be in the list of nice to haves, it's just not going to happen.

What were the odds on us getting Alan Clarke first time around?

I know it was his first job but still...

If it's A. Boothroyd, I shall not be renewing my season ticket next year.
