If I was going to lie, I probably wouldn't lie about going to Thames Valley University, I remember it was bottom of the league tables when I was applying to uni!
A warning if anyone thinks about lying. Once had a CV from an electronic engineer who claimed on his CV he could speak fluent German like it was his mother tongue. When he arrived at the interview I told him the interview would be conducted in German. He couldn't string 2 words together. He asked if we could speak English as he had "exaggerated" his claim. I told him to **** off as he may have "exaggerated" other items on the CV. The interview lasted about 2 mins.
PMSL - I once interviewed a guy who claimed he could speakl fluent German my co- interviewer suddenly switched to German half way through the interview and our interviewee followed suit and for about 3 mins of the interview I hadnt a clue what was going on. We gave the guy the job Same principle for over exaggerating - best I had was a guy who brought in a circuit board and circuit diagram he had designed - I picked a block and asked him to explain how it worked - it didnt take long to get him to admit he hadnt actually designed that bit, being a generous guy I asked him about a different block - same result bit of further digging and he hadnt actually designed any of it. Interview finished shortly after with a few words of advice
Yep had loads like that By the way I didn't know you were into electronic design. If ever you fancy returning up north a PM might be in order
BEng (Hons) Liverpool in electronic engineering And a Chartered Engineer mate All of which says bugger all about whether I can actually design anything of course Love to move back up north but Mrs F is a bit tied to the London Area unfortunately - I could actually do my current job from anywhere with a decent internet connection anyway. Best CV I had - fairly thin on the usual stuff but then got to the persona interests l stuff at the end - over a page of prose explaining this persons role as a dungeon master in dungeons and dragons and how the interaction with people was character developing etc etc. Strangely didnt call him in for interview
Know what you mean I did my job mostly in Germany, sometimes at home in Dodeth, sometimes in the office. Hardware design with a bit of software thrown in. Past it now though prefer my current role as a setee tester. Get thi CV in - people with your skills are like 20 goals a season strikers - in very short supply in Barnsley.

Reach text format??? How far away is the keyboard? Also "rewarding and challenging career in a dynamic work environment". Just about every job ad I've ever seen says that. And what does "This position is limited" mean? I think I'll stick to my job as a beer and settee tester thanks.
I'm beginning to think most people exaggerate on them Nearly everyone we get applying to our place turns out to not have the level of experience and skills required. "Proficient in" appears to mean "watched someone over their shoulder one day".
