Only on a multiregion DVD player.
Many players can easily be made multiregion but some can't. What make and model do you have?

Region 1 is US and Canada....we are region 2. Although as Revvie says many players can be made multi-region, as they are just coded to prevent them playing other regions so you just need the codes (some you can do via the remote, others you would need to get chipped) If it's one you can do via remote you can find the codes online, easy enough to do and if you set it then to Region 0 it allows you to watch both regions without having to keep changing the region.
Virtually ALL the cheapo dvd players (including that £9 job from ASDA!!!) are fully multiregion 'out of the box' and will happily play Regions 1, 2, 3 and 4 - no hack or modding needed. More expensive players (Sony, Toshiba, Panasonic etc etc) can be made multiregion, usually by modding (replacing/adding a special chip) Plenty of firms around that do this (go Google!) or you can buy a kit and DIY if you're confident with a tiny bit of soldering. Many retailers (eg Richer Sounds) offer these players already modded, usually a tenner or so more than the standard machine. If you're wanting a high-end player (arcam, denon top-end for example) tread carefully - you're talking £800 up......that's one warranty you DON'T want to screw with by meddling inside!! :'(
