Sub for Coventry yesterday. Shows the difficulties we will have in moving on the Failed Hillcroft experiment players.
Do you think Scotland and Pedersen have offered more than Dagnall this season? I bet he's playing for us in Jan.
Can't get in a team a division below us has scored 6 league goals including 2 penalties in 2 years. Both Pedersen and Scotland have scored more goals than mr daggers this season.
Subbed off the week before after losing possession in the middle of the pitch from which the opposition scored.
He's another o'brien for me. Not the most skilful but will always give 100% and has bags of energy that the opposition struggles with. The problem is though that we don't play to his strengths at all, our game is all about lumping the ball to the left corner flag for o'grady to get and then we cross it in to an empty box and sadly dagnall isn't tall enough to get on the end of it (neither is anyone except for the one who isn't allowed in the box)
Without checking, I don't think they have. Pedersen has got 2. Scotland 1. Dagnall 1 for us and 1 for Coventry. He might be ****. But he's just as **** as the other two and offers more in terms of graft. Look at our record with him in the team versus without. Not a coincidence.
Both Scotland and Pedersen have scored twice and Dagnall once for us. Scotland's record is still 8 from 11 starts Dagnall stands at 6 in 39 starts Pedersen is 2 in 8. Sorry a forward needs to score more than that there's no 2 ways about it.
Pedersen's triciness also won us a couple of penalties. The reality is he can't get into Coventry's team a division below. He tries hard but isn't good enough part of the Hillcroft legacy we have about half a dozen such players. As for the record with him in the team we have won zero games with him starting this season haven't we?
On paper we have decent strikers , pedersen looked good , but all our strikers are lacking service and need to be in the box more
You have a point there. The trouble being if we played to his strengths he wouldn't score enough. He would be a good buy for a team in the lower half of the division below or us if we go down but no amount of running makes up for an inability to score.
I think Pedersen would score goals if we ever created any chances for him he is still a the stage in his career where he finds it difficult to create things for himself. I think Lineker or Owen in their prime would struggle to score as we are so lacking in both creativity and speed of thought and delivery to the forward players.
