With hindsight we were worse without him, could have stayed up with him playing and maybe getting the odd goal in those last few home games.
I was in the smallest minority ever, when I said he should have stayed and played. Can't have been any worse than Pedersen.
He was THE player, THE catalyst in our pressing game last year. It started at the top with him chasing, and it filtered down the side. I didn't think for a minute we'd miss him as much as we have. Always liked him, but we definitely lost a huge chunk of what we were about when he left.
I was never in the "get rid of him" camp, but I'll admit I thought we needed better. We got better pedigree in Proshwitz but Dagnall would have scored just as many, and offered more in general, as it turned. He needs to ditch the beard though, doesn't suit him.
I loved Daggers. Still wouldn't have stayed up had he stayed sadly. Glad for him though scoring what turned out to be the winner. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk
Happy for Daggers but I still hope it's either Preston or Rotherham who go up, the London/Southern clubs don't half get a chip on their shoulder when they get a bit of success.
He scored an absolute scorcher in one of the friendlies and I thought he'd finally found some confidence and would go on to have a great season. As been mentioned, our pressing game went to ratshit when he diasapeared off the scene. Great shame.
Did nowt for a year and a half including nowt at Bradford on loan - had a good few months then did nowt this season. Yup, he'd have kept us up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Scored a nice goal away at Blackburn too, before Big Jean pulling down their player, getting a straight red and our inevitable capitulation. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Poor player in the championship good in League 1. Just because we got a poor replacement doesn't mean he didn't need replacing.
Dagnall is NOT a good player just because he runs around and scores the odd goal. He scored the odd goal for us but he was no good then. Now he happens to score for Leyton and now we want him back?..... Dawson is similarly NOT a good player even though he runs around and scores an 'occasional' goal. He will do that next season too and he will still not be good. People tend to forget what genuinely good players we have had. Hendrie was a class player compare to Dagnell and he played for us in the Championship even though he was later on in his career. No comparison. As for Dawson......... I could run around and try hard. I'd still be crap. People like Dagnall and Dawson got us relegated....Simple as
Don't get this thread at all. Proschwitz was the replacement for Dagnall. Dagnall - 34 league starts for Barnsley - 6 goals Proschwitz - 8 league starts for Barnsley - 4 goals. Two of Dagnall's goals were penalties, so he scored as many goals from open play in 34 starts as Proschwitz did in 8, but Proschwitz is **** and Dagnall would have scored the goals to keep us up. I don't understand that. I didn't see any evidence while Dagnall was with us that he was capable of doing that. He had a few good games when Flicker first took over and that was it in all the time he was with us. Dagnall isn't even a regular in the Orient side. He's on the bench as often as he starts a game. Not that I rate Proschwitz, but he was far more likely to score us a goal than Dagnall.
I loved Chris Dagnall because he was ****. We were bottom of the league when Danny took over. Let's not pretend the players he had then were any good.
Dagnell didn't get us relegated he played 1 or 2 matches scoring a neat goal and then never seen again, hard to blame someone would hardly played and left in january. he's the biggest mistake this season.
