See the on line article in the mail - it will probably be in tomorrow's paper. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...lbow-left-Barnsleys-Hume-fractured-skull.html The FA initially confirmed Morgan's challenge, although a red-card offence, could <u>'not be described as exceptional'</u>. Officials at Soho Square said they had 'canvassed expert opinion in the game' and had concluded they would not intervene. This is before the submission of further video evidence, but I can't believe, just based on the evidence that was freely available ON THE NEWS, that the FA could actually say that the challenge COULD NOT BE DESCRIBED AS EXCEPTIONAL. What was not exceptional about it then - was it that the guy survived, so no harm done? or was it that the elbow was deemed to have been delivered with only proportionate force so it was all part of the game. and they STILL talk about respect. /poo
I saw that last week and thought it was rubbish then! One thing I can't understand is that 2 former refs (at least) seem to have suggested that a ref can review his decisions himself - which menas some action could be taken - which might explain why drogba got his ban because the ref booked him for the celebration not the coin throwing. Was it Poll on MOTD2 tonight - he said that the ref could review the booking that led to the sending off in the Newcastle/Wigan game where the player clearly played the ball and there was no foul and therefore he could rescind the cards. It seems then that D'Urso could review his 'performance' and either admit his error or note the violent conduct. C'mon D'Urso justice for Hume
I interpret that as.. We asked some referees whether they'd like to condemn another referee they said they'd rather hide under the bedsheets.
