Shocking, even by that odious rag's standards.... http://www.malcolmcoles.co.uk/blog/daily-mail-guuilt/
A load of outlets reported that she'd lost the appeal based on the way the judgement was read out (and, to be fair, she did lose it for the slander charges but won the murder ones). But to draft up an article full of quotes is disgusting.
Front page of The Mail today: 'Free to make a fortune'. Well at least you can't accuse them of being subliminal in their attempts to shape your opinion.
Don't get me wrong, there's something not quite right with her statements etc but the physical evidence has never put her in that room. Amazing that the bloke who actually did it is not even being talked about.
If she has spent 4 years in a foreign prison for an offence she didnt commit its hard to begrudge her making some money out of it especially as there are undoubtedly large legal bills to settle up I really dont know enough about the case to know which decision is correct - but lets hope that the right one has now been reached. Wonder if her ex boyfriend will be able to make as much money with him not being an attractive female?
That's an excellent point. Even worse, he's got to try and rebuild his life in a country where 50% of Italians still think they did it
Brings in to question the practices of news organisations when things like this happen.....the Daily Mail story described her as "looking devastated".....so they write a piece before the result is in, ok I can accept having 2 brief stories ready to publish online until a fuller story can be published....but to make comments about how people react "before the event" is just a step too far.
Match Reports I've often thought that some reporters have pre-written match reports with lines like "Battling Barnsley earn point" with blanks for the occasional specific incident that they can be bothered to remember. At the end of the match they simply add a few lines and send in the appropriate version depending on the result.
Reminded me of this....Miami Heat basketball team lost in the finals, but the local newspaper ran an ad the following day to buy Championship merchandise! http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/06/...ionship-gear/landing_heat.html?blockID=532262
