Baarnsley are set to offer Heinz Muller an improved contract to fend off several interested Premiership clubs

Saw That Myself And So My Two Questions Are.......

    1. Does it mean the club have had offers for him or at least enquiries? I can't see us giving him a new contract on the back of pure speculation and nothing more.

    2. With the club not quashing speculation about this so called release clause, is the new contract an attempt to get rid of said clause from contract?

    3. Does this mean that we're trying to compete with the likes of Fulham regarding wages?

But a new contract may mean getting rid of the supposed release clause - or at least making the fee higher.

Hopefully anyway. This talk of him leaving for £1m is ridiculous - he is worth FAR more.

RE: Saw That Myself And So My Two Questions Are.......

Simon Davey came into the legend suite before the entertainment started yesterday and was asked about players leaving in January. His answer was that there hadn't been any enquiries from other clubs, no players had asked to leave and there had been no discussion with chairman or board with respect to selling players in the January window. Everything else is paper talk as far as he's concerned. He also said he'd had sleepless nights trying to decide who to play in midfield yesterday given the excellent performances by Togwell and McCann at the weekend. He also singled out Dominic Werling's improvement as a player.

No mention of an escape clause. Nevermind. Aye I wasn't surprised both JCR and Howie got straight back in, as I expect it. However Davey always says it's up to players to come in, do a job and stay there. Doesn't dropping players after a great result at Ipswich give them players the wrong impression?

Just makes me wonder so soon after getting him his current contract may have the get out clause . But I seem to remember after the McIndoe farce Sheps said he would be reluctant to sign players with such clauses , also he could be on poor money so they want to bump him up to show they appricate his status at the club
