Incredible prospect, and someone I really want to get behind. Enjoyed his career so far. But I don’t know why boxers do this, same with Josh Warrington. Alienate the rest of Yorkshire by getting the football fans involved. This is crap listening to Wednesday fans sing their crap songs and that terrible band playing Wednesday songs whilst I’m trying to enjoy his fight. It’s really hard supporting fighters when they stick their football colours on. I was contemplating going tonight but I’m really glad I didn’t now.

Yeah, and to be fair I’ll give him that. He could’ve gone down the route of that Hi Ho song. These fans have ruined this fight for me though. Smith does look incredible for this stage of his career and way above this level already, in my opinion.
I guess if I was a half decent fighter I’d insist on coming out in the Barnsley colours, I’d want Nardiello carrying my British title to the ring, and my ring walk music would be Chumbawumba*! I guess what I’m saying is I can see why they do it. They also trying to create a fan base that gets them a stadium fight, and who wouldn’t want to fight at the ground of the team they support? * Could go down the Wakefield route. Oh no I really do get why they do it. But I genuinely think I’d go the other way. I’d want the whole of Yorkshire to support me. Not just Barnsley fans. But fortunately for Yorkshire I’m not in fighting shape, infact, on that, I never was in fighting shape.

Makes more sense with Warrington as Leeds is a one club City & far bigger support base than either Sheffield club. He is class. Not sure I see him as a world champion but he won’t be far off
