    So someone suffering alcohol addiction is in serious need of help, yet yesterday a young Mother with a heroin addiction was 'scum of the earth'! How does that work?

    Just a question but..

    like philtyke said why are people like Amy Winehouse, Pete Doherty wastes of space and scum but because Gazza played for england but is now an alcoholic he deserves help and pity? hes as bad as the rest of em

    I'm talking about alcohol use in general. There are many more babies born with foetal alcohol syndrome than display withdrawal from opiates!

    And just to add I'm the senior nurse for a local nhs drug and alcohol service, I've got an Msc in Drug Use and Addiction and a Diploma in Drug and Alcohol Dependence! So yes, I believe I do know what I'm talking about!
