Daniel Bogdanovic - worrying

I am hugely underwhelmed by this, and it seems pretty certain he is signing.

Does Davey not learn from his mistakes?

the point is that Davey is scraping around for strikers who have not played at anything like a standard close to the Championship.

Haven't we seen the mistake previously with Mostto, Christensen et al.

It hasn't worked for a number of strikers now and I find it very disappointing that he is going down this route again.

You can't scrimp on cheap strikers. You need quality in that position.

He might turn out to be OK (on the balance, probably not) and of course I will give him a chance. The fact that he is 28 years of age and not played at a very high level suggests to me he is probably not good enough.

To be honest though I think he's just been brought in on trial, impressed and will probably be offered a short contract / reduced initial terms / performance related. Other championship sides have / are looking at him according to press reports. He could prove to be a diamond and according to most cant possibly be worse than KO. Ferenczi was hardly a household name and he came from nowhere and did a job for a while.

I doubt he's Davey's only target / option in any case.

At the end of the day tried and tested players are expensive and their signatures hotly contested and we are hardly attractively placed either in the league nor in financial stakes.

i guess so mate, didn't realise he was on trial and satisfied if he is on performance related short term contract but if we are only signing this one striker to solve all our problems then I just think it is a big gamble based on previous experience.

Hartog posted a rumour that a trialist signing was very likely.

I wish people would try to be a bit more positive though.

Hume at least a month off at best? Coulson out for season, Cureton gone, Mossto gone, KO exiting stage left?? You would have thought people would be glad to at least get a body in yet all they can do is condemn the guy before he's even signed let alone kicked a ball. Its the same moaning feckers that would be screaming blue murder if Macken got crocked and we had no striker available.

Davey has got a track record of bringing in unknowns that have looked capable albeit struggling with strikers.

TBH I think if we are signing him it is a short term solution until the summer then we can get a proper striker in. We are probably hoping for a Ferenczi effect to happen and if he scores 6 or 7 goals before the end of the season then he's done a job. Just get behind him and don't boo the poor lad if he misses one chance.
