I'm sure anything regarding his move to QPR will be regarded as the ultimate I'm a pleb, but I only found out this morning and so this is my view: If he had gone to Coventry, I would have been OK with it, Nardiello has been very inconsistent during his time at Oakwell and I could understand him leaving for his hometown club who have a better chance of achieving something than Barnsley. However, I simply cannot understand his choice, and it must only be for money as I would hope we will be aiming to achieve at least on a similar level to QPR. And as we apparently offered him a better deal than Coventry I would have liked to see him stay, and I am a little disappointed at him leaving to one of our direct rivals.
Badly advised by his agent Some clubs have a policy of not offering financial incentives to agents. Just that.
QPR have a more illustrious history than we do, quite a number of seasons in the top flight including the Premier. And more chance of them attracting investment and succeeding than us.
As far as I'm not aware we're one of them though. I know we are trying to keep them to a minimum but I wasn't aware there was a total ban on payments to agents as they have at Huddersfield say.
Oh aye, guns in the boardroom, no probs! They seem to be getting a few bob and players from some dubious links with Chelski too, using them a bit like Man U use Antwerp.
they do have a more illustrious history but look at Leeds with all thier history, Southend and Huddersfield will still be promotion rivals for them next season, and for that reason I don't think AR would send any good players to Elland road, as they are rivals for next season at least, and I feel the same can be said about us and QPR, looking at the matches between us and league finishes, and that is why I am disappointed to see him go there.
It has been suggested that agents are prone to advising their clients to sign for the clubs that offer them the largest financial incentive. Im not suggesting that is the case here, but there's more than meets the eye when it comes to transfer dealings.
In this case though, Nardiello must have been fully aware of the terms we offered and so QPR must surely have bettered them?Signing on fee maybe? Is his agent his dad?
