What tha on abart pushing him, he does something that he loves, i am just proud

 

nothing wrong with being proud, just make sure that you also let him know that it doesn't matter if he succeeds or fails because in the past you have been very vocal about how he has been badly done to by not getting this award or that and not getting in a team or whatever, could make him feel under pressure.
