Absolutely not a bad apple... he was a player who wanted to do well at Barnsley. He had other clubs come in for him prior to accepting Barnsley but he was advised that we were a good honest club.. unfortunately the latter 2 points were missed by Mr Hill
Whether he's a bad apple or not, the speed he's leaving clubs creates the perception that he could well be.
As I recall it the word was that he didn't agree with Hill's footballing philosophy so found himself on the fringes like Doyle did, both good players on their day IMO but can't help feel that if there's bad blood with Hill it's probably there with Flicker too.
Good player on his day but he's too injury prone. His next club will be his sixth and hes only 25. There must be a reason so many managers have got shut, I imagine its to do with not wanting to pay wages for a player who struggles to play 30 games a season.
Glad he's not with us, bone idle springs to mind, offered about 10 sprints a game & barely seemed interested
That implies he got in a goal scoring position 7 times. Bone idle, shame really because with pace and finishing like he has, he's got the potential to be a very good striker in this division.
Doyle was poor and found his level with Bradford. Said it all that he had to drop two leagues for football. Proved we were right to let him go. Haynes is already a journeyman and he's only in his mid 20s. Clearly something is missing for him to never be able to settle anywhere longterm.
Turns out, it's Haynes that's rejected a Charlton deal. Think he'll reunite with Robins at Huddersfield.
Thing about Haynes and other lightening quick players, they always pose a danger. I'd always like BFC to have a player like him on the bench. Bit like Misfud too, awful at times, couldn't trap a bag of cement, but their pace meant that they always had a chance of a one on one or creating something. I remember Christian Roberts back in the bad period. Whenever Bristol City came to Oakwell, whilst he wasn't particularly good, his pace meant that he was always racing away and squaring balls to better players.
