Good news. Let's see him on the field next, Danny. Kid knows where the net is. He'd work well in my opinion off COG.
we'd all love to see him come good. obviously needs game time. wonder if he's been in the john stones dungeon? def needs to bulk up
Why? When he came up against Shittu and Shackell he bullied them. And scored against the latter. Also at Ipswich. It's a myth this bulking up nonsense. He's ideal in my opinion off the bench this season. Especially now we're down to just COG and himself (with Jason Jason set to leave and Pedersen disappearing off the radar).
Think you're correct Whitey. Look at Hernandez at Man Utd.......not exactly a muscle man is he? Danny Rose will always be the quick agile goal sniffer type.
Best news in ages. As for his physique well Leroy Lita isn't exactly massive but gas done ok for himself
"When he came up against Shittu and Shackell he bullied them"....Is that true.? He scored a great opportunist goal via Shackell, but some how got under both's skin by something that was said, Which they seemed to take as a lack of respect...I think it was only Rose's good fortune that both games where over, that actully Stopped him been kicked into the 3rd row of the stand. Thats the way I saw it....not knocking the lad..a bit of cockyness is a good thing in a striker.
Wrong choice of words? He certainly 'got' to them though. Two physical centre halves, bulky, no nonsense etc. And skinny little Danny dismantled them both.
It's great news He's shown he has an eye for goal and doesn't get intimidated by physically bigger and far more experienced defenders. For me, his build isn't an issue. In the same way it doesn't seem to be an issue for the likes of Xavi, Hernandez, Messi, Sterling, Iniesta or Silva, for example. Whilst attending the evening with Neil Redfearn a couple of months back, Neil was full of praise for the Academy and two of the younger players in particular, Paul Digby & Danny Rose. He said of Rose "There's something of the night about him".
Re: Love the Quote Danny.. People make far too big an issue about the body composition of Danny Rose. Rose is a natural goalscorer and that attribute is hard to come by. Look at our strikers from past seasons; Macken, Gray, Dagnall, Odejayi, Hayes, Bogdanovic and Davies. I think out of them Bogdanovic was by far the most light weight, most unfit, and had the worst work rate. His strength and pace wasnt even close to Odejayi's and his touch and technical ability was far from John Mackens. He didnt have the heading ability of Andy Gray. Yet he had a natural ability to put the ball in the back of the net, something which all the others mentioned failed to do for us on a regular basis. Craig Davies was the same although he did have strength to use to his advantage. His touch and overall play were miles away from Gray and Macken, in fact they were of league 2 standard. Yet give him a ball in and around the 18 yard box and he was lethal. Danny Rose has that same natural ability to score goals.
could indeed be in Danny's plans OR its a way to ensure we might get some good cash for him while under contract. Either way its a good move.
He's a little Michael Owen type player that frightens defenders to death. Pace to get in behind teamed with a decent finish he could have a bright future but he needs to play games. A little cheeky grin and the balls to give centre halfs as good as he gets will endear him to people at oakwell I'm sure.
He's never really impressed me, I'll be honest. Must be highly thought of to get a two year extension, so hopefully he'll go and prove me wrong.
