It's great to see Micky stay on but I hope Danny makes his own mind up about the players because really that's why he was brought in.

Agree with this and I think he will. Danny will be his own man and will make his own mind up.

Hopefully pointing to the exit door where one or two are concerned.

He alluded to certain players who have been 'out in the cold' maybe getting their chance.

I hope he starts with Scotland and Hassell.

Jason is the one striker I expect to score whenever he's in and around the box. He doesn't faff about. Just tries his luck.

Hassell's experience will be vital over this next 10 days of football. I'd have him either just behind or just ahead of the centre halves, snuffing out danger.

And he never mentioned Paddy being injured..

Scotlands not good enough. Should have been released in the summer imo. So slow and hes not putting away chances anymore.
    A
lso Hassells a long way off in my opinion whitey and i will say why.
Wisemans pretty set at RB. Cranie in my opinions a very good defender so he can't be left out. Then we've got Ramage M'voto Nyatanga fighting for one spot. You can't put hassell in before any of them. Danny Wilson will have is own opinions and maybe will look at horse for course but I personally would like to see Nyatanga/Cranie.
Kennedy. The one area of the defence that personally I think needs strengthening. saying that he didn't play badly against Yeovil so you can't drop him on that and he didn't play badly at Burnley or Brighton.

Honestly you seen to have big rose tinted glasses over hassell but step back and Think how you get him in to the team. Thats what the managers got to think.
Leeds will have quick players. When I put a team on here I always try and think about what the manager as to consider.
Balance of the team, partnerships, opposition.

If you want to put Hassell in the centre then he will struggle. They will go with Smith and Mccormack I think. Will Hassell be able to cope with Ross's Pace, In my opinion No. So does he have the skills against Smith who's a tall player. In a central two I don't think so.

Bobby ain't that slow , and with his class and experience he doesn't need much pace. Our best defender still because he can read the game

Don't agree on Scotland, he's got ten times the nouse any of our other strikers have.

M'Voto - getting better but always looks to have an almighty clanger in him
Ramage - has looked pretty poor to me
Nyatanga - are we sure he actually exists?

I think the Leeds game might come too soon after effectively being frozen out for a good few months but I think Hassell definitely has something to offer at CB.

I disagree with your view of Wiseman. To me he just isn't a natural defender. His main asset, pace, gets him out of the trouble he's usually put himself into through poor positioning and an inability to read situations. Often, of course, even that's not enough. At this level, neither of the full backs are imho good enough, and that's the main reason we leak so many goals.

Have we not been over this about a million times?

There's nothing rose tinted about my opinion of Bobby Hassell. I've seen nearly every home game that he's played for us. And during that time I've been very impressed with him. I am yet to notice a decline in his standards/ability, nor in his fitness levels. In fact, you could say that his lack of games over the last two and a half seasons has kept him fresher. He's got the best win percentage of any current defender at the club, during the Hillcroft era. You could put that down to him only playing about 40 of a possible 120 or so matches I suppose. But I know how much you like to use your own stats.

So I'm not judging him on anything but his ability and performances for us. The fact he's a lovely bloke away from football doesn't come into that judgment. And if you read what I first posted, you'll find that I suggested he play either just behind, or just ahead of the centre halves. I never mentioned playing him in a two. Although he's quite capable. And, in my opinion, still the best defender at the club.
It's easier to take my stance, because evidence supports it. Whereas those who continually knock him and suggest his 'legs have gone' or he's 'too slow' etc are basing that on absolutely naff all. That's like me saying Elton John makes a fantastic curry. He might do. But I've nothing to support that opinion.

And even if I thought **** it and agreed that he was 'too slow', I'd raise the point that he's quicker than Tom Kennedy, and as quick as Martin Cranie and Lewin Nyatanga. He's certainly quicker than the lot of them 'upstairs'. He reads the game better than most defenders I've seen in my years supporting BFC. He's also the best header of the ball on our books, despite being 'small' for a centre half or whatever.

Scotland you say is not good enough. I again beg to differ on that. He has two goals from three starts. Pedersen's hardly setting the place alight is he? And he's cost us a fortune in wages and agents fees. Two agents he's got. I think he's a cracking player potentially but right now I want to see some experience in the side and I think Jason would be ideal on Saturday.

But these are only my opinions. You can, and do disagree. No problem with that, pal.

    So, you going Saturday?

hopefully danny will have watched us play , see where we are going wrong and play bobby again ,he is our most natural defender , reads the game well and is a threat in their box when we get a corner .think scotland deserves a start , he aint afraid to shoot like most of our players seem to have become

You you were honestly impressed with him against Derby last season when 16 Mason gave him a lesson.

I am going on Saturday and if he starts i'm off straight on my phone to put a bet on leeds.

Agree with that. Hassell could easily come in at CB or maybe DM. Reads the game better than any other defensive player we have. And people were saying his legs had gone this time last year, but he proved it to be nonsense then and I'm sure he will again.

He does read the game well but Smith will pin him at the back post.

Hassell pulled a hamstring in the first couple of minutes of that particular game. He tried to carry on, but it was obvious he had to come off. He was replaced by Andrai Jones.

Interesting analysis of our defence, the problem being we are bottom of the league with the worst GD and goals conceded. Hassell was the catalyst to last seasons escape Danny would be daft not to give him a go
