Barnsley to announce their new manager at 3pm #barnsleyfc
Sounds to us like Danny Wilson is returning to Barnsley.
Reliable source tells me Danny Wilson IS the new manager of Barnsley!
Former Barnsley Chairman John Dennis who appointed Danny Wilson first time round expects him to join on a deal until the end of the season.

Wouldn't be anything new mind, it'll be a rolling one year contract. It would be nice for the club to stick with him through thick and thin rather than a quick fire sacking. This club is crying out for stability and if we have to go down in order to improve in the way then so be it.

Not saying that's wrong, but how would John Dennis know what the deal is? Unless he and Wilson are still in touch.

Short term signing doesn't make sense to me. Hope this isn't true. With the mess the Club is in on the field it will take more than 6 months to sort this lot out.

I don't have a massive problem with that, if that's how it has to be. However, when they come to confirm a permanent appointment at the end of the season, unless he has made a complete hash of it, and we go down with less than 30 points, I can't see there being much demand for anything other than signing him up for next season and beyond. So it is a little strange that, with the club desparate for a bit of stability, that they go this 'end of season' route.

I'll be a bit disappointed if it is just 'til EOS. After going through a recruitment process, surely you should have some faith in your appointment. I can understand it if you are giving a caretaker manager the job. It could leave us with a bit of uncertainty towards the end of season...

That`s just what JD expects to happen. Not that it will or wont.
