MK Dons part company with Wilson

Wilson could not save MK Dons from relegation to League Two
MK Dons have parted company with manager Danny Wilson following their relegation to League Two.
Wilson joined the club in 2004 and steered the Dons to safety on the final day last season.

But chairman Pete Winkelman told the club website: "I am deeply disappointed that we have reached this position.

"We may have taken a step backwards in the past few days, but our ambition is still to secure the highest level of football possible for our supporters."

Wilson's side were relegated on the last day of the season after a 0-0 draw at Rotherham.

And the former Sheffield Wednesday boss was confident of remaining in charge for next season.

But Winkelman added: "I'd like to thank Danny for all his efforts during his time with Milton Keynes Dons and wish him all the very best in his future career."

Just from Wankerman's comments, it sounds like Danny wanted away, rather than they wanted rid of him. Let's face it, he always had an uphill battle to keep them up; no brass no fans, plastic club, long haired toss piece of a chairman.

    Could be compeltely wrong though

aye, i see what you mean. it was his choice to stay there though - he obviously had this dream of them packing out a 30,000 stadium in the championship or whatever it holds. he must have known he would have no cash, no fans and a plastic club when he signed his new deal.

i think its brilliant that they are up **** creek without a paddle.

    So do I..

but from Wilson's point of view, as I understand it, he "learnt his lesson"on walking out after leaving us and hating it at the Fowls.

Despite denials to the contrary, people have told me that Wilson was top of PC's want list. That's no offence to what Ricthie has achieved, but Wilson turned us down.

I think he's got another job lined up anyway. He's probably seen through the smoke and mirrors from wankerman.
