Some deep feeling running through the board today... I wonder what the odds you could get on Danny Wilson being next manager? Could a fans revolt see him re-instated and bring everyone back together? Cant see it but it could certainly be the catalyst to pull everyone and everything back together at the club - bar those that are happy he has gone because they have bought into the money money money that his behind football. Has it ever happened anywhere before? I know Cellino sacked a manager and he was re-instated but that was different circumstances. Nothing would surprise me these days with the power of social media. I just think the club have lost sight of the fans and they have made this decision without even consulting us or listening to the crowds. The have themselves forgot why BFC is here and what it means to the fans. The branding fell flat on its arse for probably the exact same reason. We want our club back. We want a club not a business. We do business to work not play. Its about time the club 'really' started listening to the fans Stronger together my arse
I think this sums it up. The club don't really care because it would be impossible to get it so wrong if they did care. There were some boos but I believe the majority of fans still backed Danny. He's still available, if the club has any connection left with the fans they'll be on the phone to him tomorrow to get him back so he can be reinstated. Its not going to happen though.
You'd get just as many people kicking off if Wilson came back. Even certain fans who were behind Wilson seem to be realising it was the right decision as the hours have passed. A strong board would stick by their original decision and no fans revolt about this or about anything would be a solution to present situations as well as future situations.
Its how its come out of the blue though with no clamour for his head from the fan base. Either PC has someone lined up or something is going off/gone off behind the scenes we don't know about imho. I smell a rat.
I tend to agree with you but the only reason why it didn't happen yesterday was because Wilson was at a funeral. The Fleetwood defeat was obviously the last straw after a poor run. I would have loved to have seen Wilson be successful just as much as the next Barnsley fan but it wasn't to be. It's not like we've been competing and losing this season. We've played well four times and the rest, apart for the odd decent half has been absolutely dire. I understand fans wanting this long term plan and a minority still wanted Wilson in charge, even if he took us down another two leagues because of what he has done in the past BUT why can't somebody else continue the long term plan? Hopefully that's the plan
The right decision has been made. Let the long rambling posters have their hissy fit, as all will be forgotten when we start actually playing football.
People were protesting with their feet. Lots of empty seats around me who I know have season tickets. It's not only a fall in potd tickets, they can see the season ticket holders that don't turn up.
I fall in to a different school of thought. Firstly I thought it was wrong to sack Danny. That said if they reinstated him then they'd fall even further in my estimation.
As much as I didn't want Wilson sacked (though I was far from happy with the situation as it stood) I don't think reinstating him will work. The board or whoever have made their decision and they need to stand by it.
let it go for **** sake, hes been sacked and rightfully so. Awful tactics, awful team selections and awful performances. its been ***** since the day he took over. I have a ST and went to 3 games before xmas, and those i was so bored i could have left at half time. How on earth anyone can say it would have improved is beyond me. There was absolutly no sign whtsoever that he was gonna turn it around
How do they compile the figure they announce? Do they make the the figure as if every season ticket holder has paid and therefore attended. Something I have heard.
Agreed. 17th in league table, 20th in form table, only us and Crawley with no away win in last 6 in whole of League 1. It had to happen. I've been patiently waiting for improvement and its just not happening. I want BFC to do well, not be in another relegation scrap, which is where our current form puts us.
My point is that some seem to be expecting a new manager to turn this around or to be given the resources and time to turn things around. I doubt it. So, what makes you think things will improve without Wilson?
