Milton Keynes Dons boss Danny Wilson was unhappy with his side's performance as they slipped to a 3-1 defeat at home to league leaders Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
Wilson kept his players locked in the dressing room for over 30 minutes after the game and said he would be asking for more from his side when Barnsley visit on Saturday.
He said: "We have underperformed tonight and been punished by a very confident looking Swansea side. They fully deserved the win and we could not argue with the result at all.
"We were very loose defensively, from front to back we didn't work hard enough. And when we did decide to press it was too late and Swansea picked us off.
"Thankfully we got back in the game with a scrappy goal and had a couple of chances to get our noses in front just after that. But the second half we started slowly and they did a very good job on us.
"We gave Swansea too much time on the ball and when we did decide to press it was too late and they picked us off. Their two strikers were able to drop off and link up with the runners from midfield.
"They caused us problems all night and it was disappointing that we didn't do anything about it. We are better than what we showed on Tuesday night and I'll be expecting my players to learn the lesson."
Wilson did point out the positives from the game as Izale McLeod returned from injury and Pablo Mills scored his first goal for the Dons.
He added: "It was good to see Izale McLeod back out there. He has made a great recovery and it is a boost to get him back in the side. He was a little rusty against Swansea, but is still a threat and we saw flashes of why he is so important to us.
"He was always going to struggle to last the full 90 minutes, but we did cause problems early on and I'm sure that when he gets back to full fitness we'll see the same sort of Izale that started the season with such a bang.
"Pablo did well again and got his goal. Unfortunately there were too many around him that underperformed. I don't want one out of the four defence doing well, I want all of them, that's the essence of good defending. You need your mates on the same wavelength and we were too distant at times and that's what enabled Swansea to put the balls in between us."
