Has left Hartlepool today,lets hope he is heading back to Oakwell to liven the place up with his teams free flowing football

 

That's a strange one

He's done really well for them.

 

I never want him back. I appreciate what he's done in the past and would rather him stay a legend in my eyes, than come back and risk it on a failed managerial run. Plus what exactly as he achieved in management away from us? Not much. Maybe we were a one off and he's not actually that good at managing....I don't see clubs in the top two leagues coming in for him. He's a lower league guy.

 

the only place he has "failed" at is the shithole down the road, other than that done a good job imo wherever hes been.

Genuine question

I find it strange because I think Wilson's done well at Hartlepool.

If we sacked Davey do people think that would be what other fans would say about us?

 

I think they think that Davey has done very well with us.

 

He did alright with them, but failed enough times in getting them promoted, only for them to go up straight away when he was sacked.

 

Yeah I agree, its strange how views differ when your so caught up in it all whilst people outside have a different perspective

Not true

Wilson was sacked at the end of the 2003/2004 season after Bristol City finished 3rd in League One and lost 1-0 in the play-off final. They'd finished 3rd the previous season too. The season following Wilson's sacking 2004/2005 they finished out of the play-off spots in 7th. The next season they finished 8th. So they didn't go straight up after he was sacked. They didn't fare nearly as well.

Seems strange to go when they are doing OK

 

He got the sack after 4 game unbeaten run but they dropped into bottom half of table.

At least we would play football how its meant to be played, a great guy who would soon bring back the fans to watch good football.

 

Deffo. I'd love him back at some point - but not yet. Davey doesn't deserve the chop.

They were flirting with relegation not long after he left, maybe only early season form. They had a player manager after Wilson didn't they?
