Having not been able to get to the game tonight i cant pass comment on what as taken place tonight, however having read most of the posts on here tonight slagging the players off i think that those that are on Wilson's back these past weeks, should reflect on what they keep posting. We all know that most of the team are not up to this league hence our woeful position at the time off writing. Hes taken on a job that on the grand scheme of things is maybe a mountain too many to climb, a Everest in the foothills of the deepest valley with a set of hikers not equipped for the task ahead. Danny was in a no win situation with some, dammed if he did pillared if he doesn't. Hes been asked to make a silk purse out of a sows ear, hes doing his best with what hes got and what was available to him. Give the man credit yes the noose is tightening and the trap door is creaking slowly open to league 1 but we are not down yet yes its been said many times it isn't over till the fat lady sings, and maybe shes warming up, but until she sings my trust is in Danny to do his best with the players at hand.
If the unthinkable was to happen and we go down, i for one would ask that the BFC board give him the job to attempt to come back with him in charge. just my opinion folks.

ive said all along, Danny needs 3 years at the club to turn it round. The next 2 seasons maybe in League 1 but with Wilson at the helm I would feel comfortable that the club would be steered in the right position on the field and see a few academy players come through the ranks.

    I agree.

He's been left with a right bloody mess to clear up, and not exactly a king's ransom with which to do it.

Despite last night's result, I still think that we're slowly getting better. It's most likely too late to save us this season, but he should be allowed to carry on, even in the event of relegation.

I wouldn't even think about sacking him until the turn of the year, and even then only in the event of us being in the League One relegation mire, and I don't think we will be. It's going to be a long old job to stabilise us - if we do go down I don't expect an instant return - and I feel that he's the man with the track record to do it.

The other thing in his favour is his history with us. Because he's Danny Wilson, he'll get a bit more tolerance when things aren't going for us. I would feel sick to have to boo one of his teams off, or shout 'Wilson out!' because the guy is basically a god to me.

As I said on the other thread, we weren't that bad against Leicester, and there have been some signs of a recovery. Assuming he wants to stay, give him a contract and let him get on with it, because we're in very good hands.

I agree that none of this mess is of Danny's making and no blame will be apportioned to him if we drop. I still believe that he is the right man for the job and should be given time, support and backing to turn our fortunes around.

To be fair like most managers he has been let down by players, not all what he inherited. Of those we had Mellis is one player Danny has had faith in has let him down in recent weeks, he also kept the faith with Kennedy and the lad is still the same has he has been all season long.

Players he has fetched in like Frimpong must be a disappointment to him and well Woods doesn`t seem to be any improvement at the moment on what we had, Lawrence is Danny`s Nyatanga, Proschwitz whilst he knows where the net is his outfield play resembles Rory Fallon. He was unlucky with the McLaughlin injury and Hunt after a decent start seems to have gone backwards.

We have a mixture of old and new that are underperforming to their own standards. Now it looks as though the central pairing he inherited and that have played well in recent months are out injured.

Who`d be a manager eh, he certainly has his work cut out to keep us from the drop, but it can be done we aren`t going to be playing Leicester every week thats for sure.

Unfortunately for Danny I think he was a sop to appease the fans after Flitcroft's dismissal. I can't think why he wasn't allowed to bring his own coaching staff in. It's clear from their body language that he and Mellon don't have a close relationship. Danny has said that his appointment is until the end of the season.

I'd be very surprised if we started the 2014/15 season with Danny in charge. I'd be less surprised if Micky Mellon was at the helm.

To start a new season with a complete outsider would be foolish in my opinion given the rebuilding job required at Oakwell but if that's the road the Club wants to go down then we're in for a long haul in League 1.

What I don't understand is why everyone is willing to give Danny the 3 years he needs, yet had we appointed any other manager, and done as poorly as we have under Danny, the fans would gave been clamouring for his head. I think a lot of people are willing to give Danny the time because of his past and not what is likely to happen. That said I've said it for a while that we just need to stick with the same man for a few tears and get some sort of consistency together.

Not for me, shown nothing to suggest he can turn the ship around.

Excellent post and bang on the money out can't shine ***** after all can you. Under Danny we are more competitive and harder to beat we just don't have the quality to take the next step forward. I hope he gets the chance to regroup and rebuild integrate the younger lads in the tea m and move forward whatever league we are.

Given the vibes coming out of the club can't see it though.
