does talk crap on the official site. Saying he would have only left us for Wednesday and "no other club". Yeah sorry Arsenal/Man Utd/Chelsea etc i am staying at Barnsley. What a kiss ass he is.
For me, it wasn't so much that he left us for Wednesday, but it was the manner in which he did it. At that time we would have built a statue of Wilson in town, he was that loved, but he lied and he was dishonest. He screwed us over really. In the end, if he'd stayed with us, I'm convinced we'd have gone back up, but instead he went to Wednesday, and both them and us suffered the consequences of that decision. If there was ever one decision that backfired on Wilson, it was that one. Just another reason to hate Wednesday.
From a footballing perspective it definitely backfired. On a personal level though, he may just have financially secured the future of his family with that move. Plus, it was his dream job anyway. I was bitter at the time but looking back I don't hold any grudges. If, God forbid Ritchie were to be snapped up by a bigger club I'd offer the job to Wilson in a second.
no better than his spineless chum anderson, both lying lovely personts and i for one will never welcome him back at oakwell.
Wouldn't have him back - it's never the same second time round. When Wilson took over nobody really wanted him and he took a couple of seasons to win the fans over. If he came back half the fans would be against him, but everybody would have expectations. I'm not sure that would work. I haven't got anything against Wilso per se, although he did leave us in the lurch and it stiched us up at a critical time - I prefer to blame Wednesday. It's a shame Wilson never really reproduced his managerial ability anywhere else.
