    Who else has heard that he is the one to be appointed next week? IMHO i don't think it should make any difference that he has managed us before, he is an excellent, experienced manager who's only blip was last season at MK Dons. I would be very pleased if he was appointed

    I heard it as well

    No contract at Hartlepool apparently.

    Not sure he is the right man, but if it's between Blackwell/Davey and him, he certainly gets my vote.

    he won't be appointed, I honestly think that rumour started with a jokey post on here the other day which started "oh danny boy, oakwell, oakwells calling."

    Shepherd knows who he wants and I think it will be either Davey or Blackwell. Wilson is on a very good run but the Alehouse league is a long way from the championship. Personally I would much rather have Wilson than Blackwell because we played decent football under Danny and I hear Hartlepool are now, while Blackwell apparently made Leeds play terrible football.

    I just don't think Shepherd will bring in someone who will hold more sway with the fans than him. Also it would be a shame to have Wilson's name next to a relegation we should survive as opposed to the promotion he gave us to the prem.

    Those saying it would tarnish his reputation

    He left us for Wednesday, taking us down wouldn't be clearing our mind of the Premiership promotion.

    Also, I've a feeling it's more than just a rumour started here. If it's true about his contract situation at Hartlepool, that is.

    Shepherd said the new manager might not be popular

    which sadly makes me and many others think of Blackwell. Sad, sad day when he gets the job. Would rather have Wilson or even Davey than Blackwell.
