Just to clear it up once and for all. Sick of reading folk on here suggesting he's had 11 or 12 games. Leeds (a) 0-0 Bolton (h) 0-1 Derby (h) 1-2 Birmingham (a) 1-1 Blackpool (h) 2-0 Blackburn (h) 2-2 Wednesday (a) 0-1 Ipswich (h) 2-2 Doncaster (a) 2-2 So that's 9 games. And 8 points. 10 goals scored, 11 conceded. If you're of the mindset to criticise Danny, at least start by getting key events correct otherwise your argument falls down instantly.
We've been poor , very poor in a lot of games. Like I posted earlier I think I haven't missed a game since Brighton so seen all his games and it's not been good and i normally look to the posatives
Still less than a point per game. Not trying to be critical of Danny as the previous two pillocks have left us in the brown stuff but at this rate we are going down. Sad but true.
My post wasn't defending the manager. I've just lost count of the occasions this weekend where I've seen folk quote 11 and 12 games since he returned. It isn't. Even if you include the cup game (which I don't, because it's irrelevant to our survival attempt) it's still not 11 or 12 games. So God only knows where folk are grasping that figure from. I'm guessing it suits their agenda. Oh, and I agree Conan. I too fear we'll not quite have enough. Four points squandered in the last two games. We've not won enough games all season, no matter the squad of players or manager. The reason for this, in the main? (in my opinion) We've spent most of the season worrying too much about the opposition. We set up so negatively at times, and pack the side with little in the way of creativity or flair. The few occasions we've "gone for it", we've won. And even Wilson to me appears too cautious. And look where it's got us. I'd rather we selected our flair players and went down fighting. And any manager, be it Danny Wilson, Keith Hill or Sir Alex Ferguson, who chooses not to select Paddy McCourt in a bottom of the league second tier side needs their head testing. I was getting ready to have a right moan at full time yesterday, but he eventually did the right thing and lo and behold we score. If Paddy starts on Tuesday, and plays like a wally and we get battered 7-0 or summat, then fair enough, I understand. But it won't happen. Because Paddy hasn't appeared for us in any of the hammerings we've taken. We were beaten up early season with bloody defensive midfielders all over the shop. I'm going to be a broken record until Tuesday. Paddy must play.
We seem to be improving, just very slowly, if we go down it will be agonisingly close - like by 1 point or even goal difference.
Flickers last 9 games gained us 7 pts with 7 goals for and 13 against. Not a lot of difference points wise but the narrowing of the goal difference shows we are taking more chances and are a bit stronger in defence. The away form has improved and it gives a sense that we aint just turning up for the inevitable. Home form is now the one that needs to improve and we as fans need to give the backing that we gave last season. As for giving away sloppy goals from individual errors and losing by the odd goal that has happened to both managers over the 9 game period. Flicker started his run last season with wins before tailing off points wise to get us home, I believe Danny will get us safe with wins coming at the buisness end of the season.
