Awful news for the fans, town and local community. I wonder if the Darlo supporters have contacted other clubs for collections on Saturday (assuming they are still in existence). Be nice if an official collection went round at the Well on Saturday. I would certainly put something in to keep a small club like that up, regardless of whatever mismanagement caused the problem in the first place. Like all clubs, they have their own proud history, roots and hopes for the future and in some ways in places like Darlington the football club is traditionally stable, unifying influence. It always guts me to think what I would be feeling if we had gone bust in administration when I hear stories like this
Well said. The plight of clubs like Darlington is a sad reflection of the extremes in football with individual players earning significantly more that the whole budget and income of a single club.
Could be saved tomorrow a Yorkshire based residential developer wants the land to build on and relocate the football club.
