on his TalkSport programme tonight spouting off how, as he's a Barnsley fan and from Yorksheeeere, he wants all the Yorksheeeere teams to do well. He wants Leeds to win tonight, wants Sheff Utd to go up and wants Wednesday to do well an all.
Now personally I have nothing against Bradford, Huddersfield or Rotherham, but the Sheffield duo and Leeds .........well the further they drop the better. Donny were OK till they left the Conf and decided they were a "big club", so they can sink too.
Anyone agree with Gough (apart from the usual schoolkids on here)

When I met him, he seemed very, very proud to be a Barnsley fan. He came to my local cricket club in Northamptonshire and me and my Dad both went in our Barnsley shirts. After the Q & A he spoke to us for ages.

I believe when people say he was a huge Hoddle fan, and consequently a 'fan' of Spurs, but that we're always his first team

and to be fair to him, on the radio he did say that he was a spurs fan too, but Barnsley were his team.

He also said the other day that if Yorkshire dont win the league in cricket that he wants Lancashire to win it. A very confused 'plastic' fan. The way he screamed come on Leeeeeeeedssss tonight made me wonder if he understands rivalry one little bit.

It is easier to wish Yorkshire teams to do well when you don't work with their supporters..

living away from barnsley mellows out the local rivalries.....Ifeel like he does.....i'm alright with all of them....

i work in sheff and know a few Blunts. Apart from the usual banter they're quite accomodating, regulaly get texts sending well wishes. Plus they're realists, unlike the other half of sheffield who think one win = play offs here we come!

When we play our local rivals I desperately want us to beat them, more so than other clubs. Well, I desperately want us to win every game, but I get more satisfaction from us beating say Sheffield Wednesday than I do Crystal Palace. As for the rest of the season, I don't really care what they do. I'll have a wee chuckle if they suffer a humiliating defeat or are relegated, but I'm not desperate for them to fail. I don't particularly wish them well either, I'm just not that bothered.

A lot of people seem to have got excited that Leeds have lost tonight, but it doesn't mean that much to me. It's amusing for a while, but another local derby next season wouldn't have been bad either. It didn't make much difference to me what they did.
